Sponsor Spotlight: Fracture

We recently had the chance to learn more about one of Gainesville's early success stories - Fracture - and its evolution and move to Alachua.

Who is Fracture? Fracture was founded in 2009 by two University of Florida students who saw something that others didn’t. Everything about how we capture and share our digital photos has changed over the past two decades. With the explosion of smartphone usage, suddenly, everyone has a high-quality digital camera on them virtually. As a result, we’re taking more photos than ever—nearly 1.5 trillion every year and counting.

And yet, even as we’ve revolutionized how we take photos, the way we print and display them has remained virtually unchanged; clunky, expensive frames tend to go out of style, and printing mediums like paper and canvas add imperfections back into otherwise crisp, clean digital images. So Fracture CEO Abhi Lokesh and his co-founder, Alex Theodore, saw an opportunity to create something better—and so, Fracture was born.

Breaking the Print Paradigm. A Fracture glass print is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. Unlike traditional printing methods, printing digital images directly onto museum-quality glass ensures that they go from the moment to your camera roll to your wall without losing a single detail. And unlike traditional framing, the sleek, modern design means that your prints will look perfect in any room and with any decor.

And we aren’t just passionate about delivering a pixel-perfect print but ensuring that the entire process from ordering to delivery to hanging on your wall is simple and seamless. That’s why we are vertically integrated—so that we can own every part of the process from start to finish. In addition, our Happiness Guarantee means that we go above and beyond to make sure that every customer is thrilled with the final product, and if not, we’ll do what we need to do to make it right.

The Fracture Standard. At Fracture, we believe that ethical stewardship of our environment and a commitment to doing good within our communities ought to be the price of admission for doing business in today’s world. That’s why we hold ourselves to a different standard—the Fracture Standard—in everything we do, to ensure that we’re building a company of which we can all feel proud.

With that aim in mind, we’ve made some key commitments that are core to the Fracture DNA: We tread lightly on the planet. Our planet is the one thing we all share, and the team at Fracture is dedicated to protecting it. With the help of a local partner, We Are Neutral. Fracture has been a carbon-neutral company since 2017. We’ve created innovative packaging that allows us to ship our glass prints worldwide without a bunch of extra shipping materials like bubble wrap or styrofoam that will end up in a landfill.

Moreover, our offices and manufacturing facilities in Tech City are powered by one of the most extensive bifacial solar panels in Florida. We are constantly looking for innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint. We manufacture in the USA. We believe in manufacturing. We believe in making something with our own hands—something tangible, something real. Every Fracture print is created, checked, and double-checked with care by our dedicated team to ensure the best possible product is shipped out to our customers. And our customers can feel good knowing that their prints were made by real people, right here in the USA. We put people first. We believe that a company should serve people, not the other way around. That’s why we’re committed to putting people first in everything we do, whether it be our customers, our teammates, or our communities. Each day, the images printed in our factory—treasured photos of family reunions, vacations, new babies, weddings, and graduations—constantly remind us about what matters most in life. We aim to honor those things in all that we do.

Working at Fracture. For us at Fracture, work is more than just punching a clock—it’s a part of who you are. We’re a scrappy, big-hearted, and humble team of individuals who have come together to use our skills and talents to build something that makes the world a little better. And what could be better than that?
Because we believe in putting people first, we reject the traditional startup mentality of “work hard, play hard.” Instead, we offer our employees what they need to truly find fulfillment: work-life balance. And in doing so, we believe that we can all bring our absolute best to the work that we do together.

The Fracture team enjoys generous PTO, 12 paid holidays, and a bonus day off on our birthdays. Even better, our “Life Happens'' policy means that team members can handle the little surprises and important moments life sends our way—from doctor's appointments to flat tires to school pageants—without dipping into PTO so that we can make that time count. Combined with a comprehensive benefits package (including medical, dental, vision, and more), a tech stipend for office setup, and a budget for furthering education, Fracture is dedicated to ensuring that its employees have a strong foundation so they can do their best work.
